The year was 2003 and this Spanish Harlem native by the name of Lumidee shook up the music world with a song called Never Leave You (uh oh). It seemed to come out of nowhere and Never Leave You began to bubble in the New York club scene and quickly over the airwaves . It was summer, it was New York and it was shifting the culture.

The label bidding wars began and Lumidee signed to Universal Records. Bridging the gap in hip hop coming in from New York and went worldwide. Never leave you peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 in multiple countries around the world. Hate it or luv it with her raw talent and unique style Lumidee had a certified hit!

Following up with her debut album Almost Famous.. Lumidee found more success overseas with singles and features like, crashing a party featuring German Kool Savas, Sientelo in 2004 alongside latin artist Speedy, and Dance featuring Fatman scoop for the FIFA 2006 world cup. Then in 2007 returning to the states Lumidee signs with TVT Records under Mach 1 where she released her second album titled Unexpected with songs like She’s like the wind featuring Tony Sunshine Crazy featuring Pitbull and Feel like making love featuring Shaggy. She showed off her rap skills and it became a fan favorite and once again she’s all over the New York airwaves.

With multiple mixtapes like "Lumi" and singles like MARS feat. Bodega Bamz, Be Good feat. Dave East produced by Mike Streets, underground records like End of time feature Styles P produced by Dame Greece, and Be Free produced by Harry Fraud, Lumidee continued to hit us with new sounds and visuals.

In July of 2021 she returned .. with her 3rd official studio album Titled “10 13” with a fresh new sound showing her growth. This album produced by Ibra-heem is evolved and flows in transitions with great production. It’s sexy, sultry and futuristic at the same time.

“Almost Famous” that gave us Uh Oh (Never Leave You) hits its 20th year anniversary June 2023 and has really never left us! Never Leave You continues to be introduced to yet another generation and has been sampled by many including Nicki Minaj with Red Ruby the Sleeze, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Anne Marie Little Mix, Sukihana, J Stone and many others. Lumidee doing it on her own terms releasing music working on various projects and still traveling the world. She recently did “Fridayz Live” an Australian and New Zealand tour and festival and is recently performed in the US at several festivals which include one of the largest in 2023 “Lovers & Friends”.
