Roses from Concrete

A Program featuring Oak Park Public Library

Program Hosted By

About this Program

A 5 part series, held bi-weekly this program will allow students to learn about the positive impacts rap music can have on the self but to others. Students will get to listen to and share their favorite positive hip hop songs (songs speaking highly of themselves or others) they’ll write their own raps (one about themself and one about someone or a group they love) and they’ll have a compliant rap battle, lifting each other up. My goal is to show the beauty rap music has to offer and for students to see the beauty in and about themselves.
