Join us at Planet Health Compton as we discuss the poetry and lyricism of Tupac Shakur, as well as create your own poetry with JayBee, an inspiring TEDx speaker, emcee, and committed servant to the City of Compton.
What better poet to mention than Tupac? This program will be taught by JayBee Beasley who is an inspiring TEDx speaker, emcee, and committed servant to the City of Compton. With a passion for creative expression, JayBee has dedicated their time to hosting spoken word and poetry events in South Central. JayBee is a powerful voice in her community garnering the Compton Champion award among others. An experienced event curator now providing her skills as Event Manager at the Make-A-Wish Foundation, JayBee is known for her ability to create an engaging and positive atmosphere that encourages creativity and collaboration. JayBee is a true leader and an inspirational figure, motivating others with her commitment to her community and her love for the arts. This event will take place at Planet Health Compton which is a multifaceted marketplace that includes: a vegan restaurant & café; all natural juice bar; wellness and beauty shop; streetwear retail store; and the community center which is a space for the local community to gather for ongoing educational workshops.
Attendance is limited, and advance registration is suggested. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program.
