About this Program

Honoring the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop and in collaboration with the Queens Public Library, the Gates Preserve, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services the Auburn Avenue Research Library will host Dr. Regina N. Bradley who will present her lecture “The 3000 Lives of André Benjamin”.

André "3000" Benjamin is well known as half of the duo OutKast and as an actor and entrepreneur. A multi-faceted creative, Benjamin is also known for his active avoidance of the spotlight and refusal to submit to people's demands for access to his life. This lecture examines some of Benjamin's multiple public personas and how they offer insight into his personal, creative, and regional experiences as a Black man.
